What
is QuickTime?
QuickTime
is a media component designed by Apple to allow users to experience
different types of media, from music to video. Files listed as QuickTime
will only play in this type of player. Follow the link
to download QuickTime – IT’S FREE and total download time is
between 1 to 4 minutes. So it just takes a second to install! When installing,
it will ask you to put in your QuickTime Pro serial number, just leave
blank and continue. Again, this is a FREE player.
What
are the Lo-Fi (56k) and Hi-Fi (Broadband) settings?
Web video is designed at different sizes to accommodate users with
various connections to the Internet. Lo-Fi (56k) is video designed for
users with slower Internet connections speed, usually dial-up connections.
The video is usually smaller, the audio is mono and pixelating video
is normal. Hi-Fi (Broadband) is video designed for users with faster
Internet connections (dsl/cable/T1/T3). The video is usually larger,
the audio is stereo and pixelating rarely occurs.
What
if I have a fast Internet connection and video pixelating still occurs?
Make sure you chose the Hi-Fi video and not the Lo-Fi. Wait three
minutes and try to run the video again (Many times pixelating happens
when a number of users are accessing the same file).
When
I watch the files, they freeze on one frame.
This occurs frequently on QuickTime files streamed across slower connections.
The problem is that your player is playing the file faster than it’s
being streamed. Give the file a few seconds to catch up with the player.
You can watch the progress at the bottom of the player. Try toggling
the play button to the beginning of the video to watch in its entirety.
I
have the proper player. I am clicking the proper video file for my player.
I am clicking the proper video setting for my connection, and still
nothing is happening.
When a large number of viewers are trying to access the footage
at once, the video will freeze. This most likely occurs when an email
is just sent out featuring video. The solution is to wait a few minutes
and try to watch the footage at a slower traffic time. Make sure you
are not trying to access the footage from behind a proxy or firewall.
If you are, your ISP or Network Administrator will need to change your
settings to enable streaming media. If still nothing happens, email
us your problem at
